My background and experience

I started my career in West Yorkshire Police; editing videos, managing projects and building partnerships. I then moved into the third sector, where I have now worked for over 17 years. I started at The Prince’s Trust working my way up to Head of Fundraising. I then spent the next ten years working as a consultant to charities of all sizes right across the UK, from Embrace, Nacro, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, Women’s Sport Trust, Home-Start, Northorpe Hall, The New School, Unity House, Working Chance, ESCAYP, Magistrates Association & Solve-It to name just a few. Plus, I have delivered training workshops and 1-1 mentoring to more than 400 grassroots organisations and individuals over the last five years, largely through my partnership with Kirklees TSL. Since 2020 I have also been running my own social enterprise, sharing creative activities for wellbeing and change through community projects.

“Rachel is hardworking, diligent and effective. Her expertise and guidance, not only in respect of targeting appropriate bodies, but also in research techniques and managing successful contracts is invaluable.”

Anne Campbell, CEO, Embrace CVOC

“I really enjoyed the training on Monday and thought that Rachel did a particularly good job of explaining grant applications to us all.”

TL Community Action Group

I was impressed with Rachel's knowledge and commitment to the standard of her work. I trust her judgement and advice. I would recommend her services to anyone.”

Michelle Vickers, Founder of ‘It’s Just a Feeling’ and ‘Head Spaghetti’
